Detail in PNG image

Hello team Zappar,

I’ve been trying to zoom in on an image (with the 2D photo feature symbol) for zooming purposes. It’s a Process & Interface diagram in PNG format (converted from PDF with Adobe Illustrator), thus details matter! However, when zooming in on these details and most of the codes they are practically unreadable.

Which form of compression should I use for the best results? And is there any way to preserve the quality when loading an image into Zappar Studio? Is a bigger canvas size better?

Hi @academy,

The quality of the image is dependent on a few factors:

  • The quality of the original PDF file i.e. its PPI value.
  • The dimensions the image was exported to.
  • The image’s Quality setting within Studio.

A good method would be to ensure your PDF had a high enough PPI value, was exported to a higher resolution image (while adhering to Studio’s limitations) and set to High quality within Studio.

Please keep in mind that generally speaking, text-heavy images are not recommended, as text is very susceptible to loss in quality.

Hope this helps. If you have any other issues with this please let us know.

All the best,
Seb
