Zappar app - debugging with Ground Placement

Hello, awesome Zapworks dev team!

I’ve noticed that the Zappar desktop app won’t allow me to load an experience with the new Ground Placement tracking in it. Sometimes, I get a message to please update the Zappar desktop app to the latest version. Most of the time, nothing loads.

Are there plans to update this? It’s been tough working without the debugger!

Thanks for letting us know.

We will pass this onto our platform team and see if this is something we can update, however, for a device to work with world tracking, it must have ARKit/ARcore installed (which desktops won’t) so the world tracking feature won’t work.

For debugging purposes, you can use the Google Chrome debug tool if you have an Android device.

Previewing project in Zappar for Mac throws error in dev-tools

If you’re on an Android device, you can use Google Chrome’s Inspect feature to inspect and debug live content on your device from your development machine.

Unfortunately, as far as I’m aware, iOS/Apple devices don’t provide a similar feature.
