Is there a way to have the video player play a youtube or vimeo url?

I have tried to link the Video URL in the properties of the videoplayer, but it does not play in the AR experience.

NO!
The URL needs to link directly to a video file as opposed to one uploaded to a video hosting site such as Vimeo or YouTube.

Designer will allow you to link to YouTube and Vimeo but not Studio.

Can the videoplayer play in WebAR or just using the Zappar App?

You can use it in both. Just an FYI you will need to add CORS code for the WebAR.

Hi @m.waqar,

We recommend using a CDN such as AWS CloudFront or CloudFlare to host your video if you are using the Video Player subsymbol for ZapWorks Studio.

There was also a mention in this thread of Designer - just to clarify, Designer (Legacy) allows you to import a YouTube or Vimeo video link to your projects, as well as the ability to upload your own.

ZapWorks Designer (Beta) allows you to drag and drop your video straight into your project. ZapWorks Designer (Beta) also supports transparent alpha video.
