Assigning textures when importing 3D assets is easy enough if the filenames are exactly what is defined in the pod file. In such a case one can simply drag a bunch of textures to the ‘drop all textures’ slot and they find their place nicely.
In our projects we often optimize textures after exporting pods and this most likely results in filename / extension changes. We usually stick with the same filename but as the format changes, so will the extension (png to jpg for example). This stops the automatic assignment from working.
Would be really nice if the ‘drop all textures’ slot could take this into account as it would boost the importing workflow. Simply doing the check without file extensions would already help a bunch! Perhaps it can later be extended to have even smarter matching logic.
