Saving and Sharing Screenshots in WebAR

Hello!
I am creating a WebAR experience with a screenshot button. When I preview this experience in the Zappar (IOS) app, I am able to take a screenshot, save it to my photos, and share the photo. When testing it in my browser, the only option available after screenshotting is to save to files, not photos.

Is there any way to save a screenshot to photos and share it when using WebAR? Is this feature only available when scanning a ZapCode with the Zappar app?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @lunarsea,

There’s a slightly different flow for experiences launched into a WebAR site. We don’t have as much control as we do in the native Zappar app or custom equivalent, so we are unfortunately limited by how the specific browser deals with save / sharing.

Here’s a standard flow for both iOS and Android save / share in the browser:

It can sometimes be worth thinking about some UI elements within the experience itself to help users understand how they can save / share in their specific browser.

I hope this helps.

George

George, Thank you so much for your helpful response. We wanted to be sure we weren’t missing some functionality or setting up our projects properly for sharing in this way. This makes sense. All the best, Jeff & Calyx, lunarseacreative.com
